The German localities that are geographically located at the northernmost, easternmost, southernmost and westernmost point of Germany are referred to as `` tip '' communities. This alliance was founded in October 2000.

If you manage to visit all four Zipfel communities within four years and stay overnight at least once, you will receive the Zipfelpaket. This Zipfelpaket contains four typical products from the Zipfelgemeinde. To get this package, you have to get the Zipfelpass from one of the municipalities and have it stamped in the town hall or in the tourist information office.

The current Zipfel record has been 80 hours for all four locations since 2013 (set up by Jochen Gölitz from Halver).[1]

In 2008 the “Deutsche Zipfel Prize” was awarded for the first time. The award went to the meteorologist Jörg Kachelmann. His company, Meteomedia AG, operates one in each of the four locations Weather station.
