Nudity - Γυμνισμός

The terms Naturism , nudism and social nudity is generally defined as the practice of exposing the naked body. The terms naturism and nudism generally also mean that the activities take place in a non-sexual context. The number of nudists is relatively small, but many follow it enthusiastically in a number of countries around the world. It is not for sex, but a preference for abandoning the artificial and often functionally unnecessary use of clothes to cover parts of his body. However, as nudity is often considered socially unacceptable, nature lovers often have difficulty finding travel destinations where they can practice their lifestyle and be accepted.

A nudist center (club, resort or other facility) is a place where nudity is allowed openly.

At a glance

Many countries have laws banning nudity in public. Also, many societies associate nudity with erotic spectacles, which are often strictly controlled or forbidden. As a result, nudist destinations are often in remote areas, and are discreetly advertised to avoid distracting those who might influence the nudist lifestyle.

A few resorts nudists (often referred to as "nudist camps" by the public) are "optional clothing", leaving the individual whether to wear clothes or and how much. But require naked, to discourage visits from voyeurism, and to maintain an equal atmosphere. Many sites maintain fairly strict codes of public conduct in order to remain appropriate for families with minor children and / or to avoid laws against "indecent behavior" in public.Learn the rules of any nudist destination before your trip.

The most common nudist destinations are beaches, where nudism and sunbathing are either tolerated in practice or officially permitted.

In one mixed beach without signs to delimit the area available for nudism, tensions may arise between nudists and others: each group feels the presence of the other group spoiling the enjoyment of the beach. This creates dynamic situations where the suitability of a nudist beach changes from time to time, shifts according to which team arrived first, and invisible dividing lines appear to emerge that tend to concentrate nudists in "ghetto" areas.

Spain

After the advent of democracy in Spain, after the death of General Franco, nudism is legal throughout Spain and no one can be fined for being naked. Nevertheless, some city councils prefer to have dedicated sites dedicated to nudists. In addition, there are many sites in Spain that, although not specifically designated by city councils as nudist areas, have a long history of nudism.

Most travel destinations in Spain have a nudist beach somewhere in their main tourist area. They range from commercial nudist resorts such as Costa Natura in Mλαlaga alternative and hippie communities, such as in Caños de Meca (Cadiz), family, as Arealonga in Galicia and Waikiki in Tarragona or its mostly gay-oriented Sitges near Barcelona. THE naked Sunbathing was introduced to Spain by northern and Central European tourists in the early 1970s during the last years of the Franco regime. Today it has become extremely popular among Spanish women and although it is the norm on all beaches in Spain, not all women do.
