Agüimes is a municipality in the southeast of the island Gran Canaria.

Agüimes lies between Ingenio in the north and Santa Lucía de Tirajana in the south, the place was founded in the 15th century and was a bishopric. The historic town center is a listed building.

- 1 Parroquia de San Sebastian, the mighty church with a distinctive dome on Plaza Rosario is a national cultural monument
- Museo de Historia de Agüimes, C / Juan Alvarado y Saz, 42, 35260 Agüimes. Tel.: 34 928 785 453. The museum is housed in the former bishop's palace.
- The 2 Barranco de Guayadeque, in the gorge between Ingenio and Agüimes there are caves of the old Canary Islands. Some of these cave dwellings are still used today, of course with modern comfort. Some of them can also be rented as holiday apartments. A well-developed road runs in the Barranco. The Barranco is also popular for hiking, offers wonderful panoramas and some palm groves, but hardly any shade.
