Alsace - historical land and former administrative region in France, located in the northeastern part of the country on the Rhine. It consists of two departments: the Lower Rhine to the north and the Upper Rhine to the south. Historic Alsace was still a small area around the city of Belfort, which now forms the department of Territoire-de-Belfort.
It currently belongs to the Grand Est region.
