Tongue
The official language of France is French. Regional languages, which are not dialects, but separate languages, are also in use, and are partially authorized and protected by the government. These languages are: Provencal (Provence), Breton (Brittany), Corsican (Corsica), Catalan (Franco-Spanish border) and Basque (some towns in the Pyrenees). However, 95% of the inhabitants speak French on a daily basis.
You can easily communicate in English in Paris and on the Cote d'Azur. In other parts of the country there may be problems communicating in English, as the French have little knowledge of foreign languages.

Security
In Paris and other large cities and on the Cote d'Azur in public places (metro, light rail, museums, shops, beaches in the south of France), you should be careful due to frequent pickpocketing and petty robberies. You should not leave documents, money and other valuables in hotel rooms and cars. In large cities in France, thefts by juvenile offenders on scooters and motorcycles have become a problem. They observe driving cars with valuable items on their seats. When a car stops at a red light, for example, they open a car door, trunk, or break a window, and sometimes they spray tear gas, steal the loot and then drive away, often going against the flow. The majority of victims of this type of seizure are women driving a car alone.
Health
State citizens European Union are treated on the basis of reciprocity. This means that visitors and even tourists have the same rights and obligations as a French citizen. The basis for obtaining help is the card EHIC.
- Medical advice: the patient bears the costs of the visit, the reimbursement is made by the French equivalent of the health insurance fund CPAM. Reimbursement for consultation with a general practitioner up to EUR 20, with a specialist up to EUR 27 minus EUR 1 overhead for each visit.
- Anxieties: reimbursement, depending on the group of drugs, 100%, 65%, 35% and 15%. Medicines marked with a triangle are not reimbursable. Only drugs prescribed by a health insurance doctor are eligible for reimbursement. We will receive a document at the pharmacy Feuille de Soins on which we will stick white or blue price stickers from drug packages.
- Emergency: the patient pays 65% of the transport costs. Telephone number 15.
- Hospital: the health insurance fund covers 60% of costs - laboratory tests, 75% of costs - a visit to the outpatient clinic, 80% - hospitalization.
It is recommended to have a separate, private insurance of treatment costs, including transport to Poland. When concluding insurance, you should choose a company that does not require us to provide cash and return it after returning to the country, because we may not have such an amount.
