Neuhaus Office is a municipality in the district of Lüneburg in the Lower SaxonyElbe valley.

The eight communities of the former royal Hanoverian office of Neuhaus belonged to the Lüneburg district in the Prussian province of Hanover until 1945. After the end of the war, for practical reasons (no bridge over the Elbe), they were assigned to the Soviet occupation zone and thus to the state of Mecklenburg or, from 1952, the Schwerin district in the GDR. After reunification, they were returned to Lower Saxony by state treaty from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
The entire community is located in the Lower Saxony Elbe Valley Biosphere Reserve.

The easiest way to get to Amt Neuhaus by public transport is to take the 5100 bus from Lüneburg train station to the Bleckede ferry and cross over there on foot. Since there are practically no buses in Amt Neuhaus, it is next to impossible to get there from Mecklenburg by public transport.

The Neuhaus office actually belongs to the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV) like the rest of the Lüneburg district, but due to a special regulation, only HVV season tickets are recognized, otherwise the bus operator's house tariff applies. Since almost only school buses drive in Amt Neuhaus anyway, this regulation is of no practical relevance for tourists.
Tourist Attractions
- The locality Konau and the neighboring village Popelau. Are worth seeing because they still have the construction of the typical Marschhufendorf. The whole town Konau is a listed building and is located in the Lower Saxony Elbe Valley Biosphere Reserve.
