Federal motorway 24

The Federal motorway 24 (BAB 24 or A 24) is part of Europastraße 26 and from the confluence of Federal motorway 19 the Europastraße 55. It connects the Free and Hanseatic City Hamburg with the Berliner Ring, the ring-shaped around Berlin created Federal motorway 10. In its eastern part it also connects Berlin with Rostock with a subsequent ferry connection Gedser in Denmark. The total length of the motorway is 237 km.

As part of the European road network, the motorway projected since the 1930s, but only completed in 1982 (at that time as a transit motorway through the GDR), is of supraregional importance.
