The Federal motorway 36 (BAB 36 or A 36, in the eastern part as North Harz Motorway designated) has only had this designation since the beginning of 2019. It leads from Braunschweig first to the south to the triangle Vienenburg (up to here originally as BAB 395) and there meets the federal highway 6n, which has been upgraded to the federal highway. She continues through that Harz foreland on the northern edge of the Resin over the half-timbered town Quedlinburg to the Kreuz Bernburg, where they are at the Federal motorway 14 ends.
The total length of the motorway is 120.4 km.
