Federal motorway 95

The Federal motorway 95 (BAB 95 or A 95) connects Munich with the Werdenfelser Land and leads towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The Garmisch Autobahn replaces the one that was expanded in 1936 Olympiastrassewhose route, however, it only follows a relatively short section south of Munich. From Munich, where it branches off from the Mittlerer Ring, to the Starnberg autobahn triangle, it has three lanes in each direction of travel, in its further course to the provisional end south of Eschenlohe Two lanes in each direction of travel. Of the Federal motorway 96 it is reached via an approx. 1 km long section of the Mittlerer Ring (B 2R) in Munich without crossing. The motorway is also designated as European route 533. From a tourist point of view, it is an important connection from Munich to starnberger Lake, in the Upper Bavarian Alpine Foreland and in the Bavarian Alps, especially in the Wetterstein Mountains, the Karwendel and in the Ammergau Alps. But it is also important for the through traffic direction Tyrol (Connection Mittenwald, Scharnitz and Seefeld in Tyrol and further about the Zirler Berg in the direction innsbruck and in the landscape Except far and about the Fernpass in the Oberinntal and to Reschenpass and in that Engadine). Distinctive places on and near the route are Starnberg, Wolfratshausen and Murnau am Staffelsee.
