The Federal motorway 33 (BAB 33 or A 33) begins in the north in Belm east of Osnabrück (a connection to the Federal motorway 1 at Wallenhorst is planned) as an extension of Diepholz coming Bundesstraße 51, bypasses Osnabrück to the east and crosses at the Osnabrück-Süd junction Federal motorway 30, which forms part of Europastraße 30. The BAB 33 follows the in a south-easterly direction Teutoburg Forest and leads over Halle (Westphalia) as well as south Bielefeld over to the Bielefeld junction, where you can see the Federal motorway 2 crosses. She then leads west Paderborn pass and cross the Paderborn plateauuntil they hit the Wünnenberg-Haaren cross Federal motorway 44 (also Europastraße 331) meets and then merges into the federal highway 480. The gap at Borgholzhausen was closed in November 2019, since then the motorway between BAB 30 and BAB 44 has been continuously passable (not yet recorded in all navigation devices). The total length of the motorway is currently 104 km, with a further 11.4 km being planned.
