The Federal motorway 15 (BAB 15 or A 15, also as Spreewald Autobahn known), also part of Europastraße 36, leads from the Federal motorway 13 and in direct extension from this to the German-Polish border on the Lusatian Neisse South from Forest and to the Polish Autostrada A18. It forms (with the German BAB 13 and the subsequent line in the Polish Lubusz Voivodeship part of the Europastraße 36.
The total length of the motorway is 64 km.

The route, which was largely opened as a single-lane route by 1940 (at that time the Berlin-Breslau motorway) was only extended to include a second lane after the fall of the Berlin Wall in the 1990s.
