The Federal motorway 19 (BAB 19 or A 19) is part of the European route 55, which is part of the European principle. It connects Rostock With Wittstockwhere they at the Federal motorway 20 that ends at the Berliner Ring Federal motorway 10 continues.
The total length of the motorway is 123 km.

The motorway, which was fully opened in GDR times, was modernized after the fall of the Wall. It is not only of great importance for tourism, but also as an entrance to the Rostock overseas port.
