Federal motorway 98

The Federal motorway 98 (BAB 98 or A 98, also as Hochrheinaautobahn known) was conceived as part of a much longer stretch of motorway leading out of space Basel originally up to Federal motorway 8 should run at the junction Irschenberg. This planning (Pre-Alpine motorway) was largely abandoned; Only several shorter sections on the southern border of Baden-Wuerttemberg as well as a section south of Kemptenthat to the Federal motorway 7 connects. From the originally planned interchange with the Federal motorway 95 at Penzberg unused buildings are carried out. The expanded, so far 44.5 km long sections (another 2.5 km under construction) form parts of the European route 54. There are striking places on and near the route Loerrach, Rheinfelden, Bad Säckingen, Laufenburg, Waldshut-Tiengen, To sing and Stockach.
