The Federal motorway 13 (BAB 13 or A 13), at the same time part of Europastraße 55 and north of the Spreewald triangle of Europastraße 36, leads from the Berliner Ring (Federal motorway 10) at Schönefelder Kreuz as an extension of the federal highway 113 coming from the Berlin city ring (Bundesautobahn 100) over the triangle Spreewald, where Federal motorway 15 branches off, towards Dresden. There it ends at the Dresden-Nord triangle Federal motorway 4.
The total length of the motorway is 151 km.

The motorway was opened in the years 1938 to 1940. However, the Spreewald triangle was not completed until 1962.
