Federal motorway 39

The Federal motorway 39 (BAB 39 or A 39) is a partially completed highway that runs the full length in the country Lower Saxony runs. The north branch currently connects Seevetal in the greater area Hamburg With Luneburg. The further construction is to the east Uelzen past and partly parallel to the Elbe Lateral Canal Wittingen to Wolfsburg intended. The completed southern section begins north of Wolfsburg Federal motorway 2 cross at the Wolfsburg / Königslutter junction and then turn south Braunschweig shows around. The branches off at the Brauschweig-Süd cross Federal motorway 36 from that to resin leads. The BAB 39 continues through Salzgitter and joins the at Dreieck Salzgitter Federal motorway 7.

The section from Maschener Kreuz to Lüneburg was originally called the BAB 250 and only became part of the BAB 39 in 2010. The further construction between Lüneburg and Wolfsburg is politically controversial.

The links with the BAB 7 are designed as half-connections, so that certain routes can only be used via small detours (at the Mascher Kreuz via the Horster triangle and at the Hildesheim triangle via the Baddeckstedt exit and a short section of the federal highway 6).
