The Federal motorway 52 (BAB 52 or A 52) is a federal trunk road that is divided into three separate sections of Niederkrüchten at the GermanDutch Limit after Marl runs. The western section leads in continuation of the Dutch Rijksweg 280 from the border northeast of Roermond at Mönchengladbach over after Meerbusch and then goes to the federal highway above. The middle section begins at the junction Dusseldorf-Rath and heads southeast Mülheim an der Ruhr over to the triangle Essen-Ost. The northeast section begins in Gelsenkirchen-Buer-West and leads to the cross Marl-North.
The total length of the motorway, as long as it is in operation, is 97.3 km. Another 16 km are planned.
