Roermond is a city in the Netherlands and lies at the mouth of the Rur in the Meuse. The place name becomes "Ruhr-mOnd "pronounced.

Rourmond used to be a Hanseatic town and belonged to the county of Gelre in the Middle Ages. Today Roermond is known as the episcopal city of Limburg. In the city center you will find many churches, interesting buildings and cozy places that invite you to relax after shopping.

- Maastricht Aachen Airport (40 km away; 3/4 hour journey by train)
- Weeze Airport (55 km)
- Düsseldorf International Airport (60 km; 2 hours about Dusseldorf and Venlo)
- At the regional airport Düsseldorf-Mönchengladbach no regular service can be detected.
- Kempen Airport in Budel, North Brabant is suitable for small machines and important for business flights. (30 km away, train stop Weert)
By train
- Roermond is supported by the IC (from Heerlen, out Amsterdam above Utrecht) and regional transport (Nijmegen above Venlo, Maastricht) served. Most connections from Germany lead over Venlo; out Aachen one drives over Heerlen. Connections off Belgium and Luxembourg lead over Liege and Maastricht, from Antwerp you drive over faster Eindhoven. Is the operator of the long-haul routes Nederlandse Spoorwegen, the regional routes Veolia Transport.
- Other train stations are of interest to cyclists: Venlo, 25 km, and Heerlen, 35 km, with direct connections from Germany; Eindhoven, 45 km
- The German route network begins in Wegberg-Dalheim 10 km away. Unfortunately, this route, which connected Antwerp to the Rhineland as the Iron Rhine, is interrupted in the Vlodrop-Roermond section on the Dutch side. Is more important Mönchengladbach; IC and ICE run in Aachen and Dusseldorf about 50 km away.
- The Belgian route network begins in Genk, about 80 km away.
By bus
The Dutch bus company Arriva maintains a regular bus connection to Heinsberg.[1] Bus traffic between Mönchengladbach and Roermond via the border town of Elmpt has been discontinued. Several times a day you can take the Flixbus to and from the outlet center from / to Düsseldorf (Cologne) and Eindhoven as well as to Antwerp, Aachen, Maastricht, among others.

The city center is relatively small and easy to explore on foot. But there are also some buses. Like almost all cities in the Netherlands, Roermond is particularly bike-friendly.
