background
getting there
By plane
The nearest commercial airport, Rostock Airport(IATA: RLG) has only a few line connections. Arriving by train via Were and Guestrow is, however, cumbersome and not really fast with a journey time of 2 3/4 hours. At the same time you can also do the Hamburg Airport(IATA: HAM) (Travel time by train and bus about Ludwigslust 2 hours) or the Berlin Brandenburg Airport(IATA: BER), 3 hours, about Ludwigslust and Berlin-Jungfernheide), which have a wide range of flight destinations.
Parchim is the location of the Schwerin-Parchim Airport(IATA: SZW) (Parchim International Airport), but does not handle commercial passenger air traffic.
By train
Parchim is via the Baltic Sea transport to the state capital Schwerin tied up; the journey time is 1 hour. The East German Railway follows Ludwigslust (3/4 hour), as well as about Were to Neustrelitz.
