Antwerp - a province in the north Belgiumin the region Flanders, with the capital of St. Antwerp. It borders with The Netherlands and provinces Limburg, Province Flemish Brabant and East Flanders. It covers an area of 2,860 km² and is inhabited by 1,673,000. inhabitants (2004)
The province is divided into 3 districts (Dutch singular arrondissenment/ Dutch. plural arrondissementen): Antwerp, Mechelen and Turnhout and 70 municipalities (Dutch singular gemeente / Dutch plural gemeenten). An interesting fact is that one of them, Baarle-Hertog, is an enclave in the territory of the Netherlands.
