Bălţi (in Cyrillic Бэлць, Бельцы or Бєльці), after Tiraspol in Transnistria separatist, it is the second largest city in Moldova.
Understand
The main street is Strada Ștefan cel Mare. One block to the south, the city's shopping center continues on the pedestrian street Strada Independeţei.
To go
There are two stations. The main one is the Gare du Nord, Gara de Nord (Tickets from this station are named Bălţi Sloboziya - лць Слобозия). The other station, more central and further south, is South Gara (indicated on the tickets as Bălţi Orash - Бэлць Ораш, city of Bălţi). All trains stop at North Station (even those heading south), but Orash Station is more convenient for travelers heading south to Ungheni at the border romanian and Chișinău.
