Understand
Desert island
There is hardly anything to see.
See the Formula 1 circuit, easily accessible for a modest entry fee, possibility of going Kart or laps as a passenger.
See the "tree of life" tree which is at least 300 years old and which has the particularity of being all alone in the middle of the desert.
See also the huge bridge that connects Bahrain to Saudi Arabia.

Cities
- 1 Manama – the capital, half a day is enough to tour the city which is hardly of tourist interest, the constructions are amazing, without reaching the quality of Dubai, some beautiful achievements of new buildings and especially two large twin towers which are reminiscent of two veiled women, the city is in practice a huge building site, there are a few luxury American-style malls, the mixing of peoples is interesting.
- 2 Muharraq – historic capital of Bahrain. Like the ancient cities of the Arab world, Muharraq is made up of many small alleys where one can see ancient homes of rich merchants, mosques, Koranic schools, ... The city of Muharraq is close to the airport of Bahrain.
- 3 Riffa – city located inland. Riffa Fort is an interesting visit to see in Bahrain. Recently renovated.

Ramadan date
Majority of Muslims insist on local sighting of the crescent moon to mark the start of Ramadan, but others insist on calculating the new moon or declaring it saudi to determine the start of the month. Since the first crescent after the new moon is not visible everywhere at the same time, the start and end dates of the month depend on what is visible in each location. Therefore, the dates vary from country to country, but usually only one day. |
