Baiersdorf is a community in Middle Franconia at the edge of Franconian Switzerland.

The Margrave Johann the Alchemist had horseradish planted in Baiersdorf for the first time in the 15th century, thereby establishing the cultivation in Middle and Upper Franconia. Baiersdorf is still the Franconian center of horseradish cultivation today.
