Bergen is a city of Western Norway.

Bergen is the port of departure, from north to south, or of arrival of the ferry Hurtigruten.
How to orient yourself
Bergen: full screen map.Bergenhus includes in addition to the actual center extended around the port, Bryggen some adjacent districts such as Kalfaret, Sandviken and Møhlenpris. The first is located on a hill overlooking the Store Lungegårdsvannet, a small circular bay at the bottom of the Puddefjorden. The second is north of the center.
The most famous square in the center is Torgalmenningen right on the harbor front and with an open fish market. The train station is across the square.
In the middle is the Lille Lungegårdsvannet, a park around an artificial lake on the sides of which are museums and art galleries
How to get
By plane
Bergen-Flesland International Airport [1] is 19km south of downtown. Norwegian Air Shuttle flies from Rome is Pisa. Connections to / from the center are provided by the very frequent Flybussen.
Ferries arrive in Bergen from:
- Stavanger, to the south, in 4 hours
- Newcastle upon Tyne in England, in 26 hours
- Hanstholm is Hirtshals in Denmark, in 17 hours
On the train
Bergen is 7 hours by train from Oslo with the Oslo-Bergen railway.
