Borjomi (rubble. ბორჯომი) - a spa town in Georgia in the region Samckhe-Javakheti.

Characteristic

Borjomi is a famous spa, popular for its unique mineral water. Well water is several times stronger than Borjomi water, which you can buy in stores. Borjomi has many hotels and was very popular during the Soviet era from which you can still find many buildings in the city. Above the city center lies a plateau with a Ferris wheel and other hotels offering a wonderful view of the region and the mountains. In addition, the nearby Borjom-Kharagaul National Park is the largest in Georgia and is a popular hiking destination.

Drive

By rail

Trains depart from two different railway stations:

  • From Borjomi Parks Station, the main station in the city center, trains depart for Tbilisi at 07:05 and 16:45 (2 lari). From Tbilisi, trains to Borjomi leave at 06:40 and 16:15. The journey takes 4 to 5 hours.
  • From Borjomi Towarowe station, the second station 2.5 km east of the center, the slow train to Bakuriani leaves at 07:15 and 10:55. The train leaves Bakuriani back at 10:00 and 14:15. The train takes 3 hours so if you are going on a day trip you will get back to Borjomi by bus sooner. the old wagon is 2 lari, regular 1 lari - although the interior is not much different. To reach this station, take a taxi (3 lari) or city bus (0.20 lari) or any bus (not marshrutka) that goes east to any of the nearest villages.

  • from Bakuriani at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 15:00, 17:00 (3 lari) - most buses continue to Tbilisi.

  • Chitakhevi every hour from 08:30 to 18:30 (0.8 lari)
