Tourist Attractions

The “Balkenturm”, named after the “von Balken” family, is located on Mauerstrasse. The building is the only surviving tower of what were previously seven towers of the city fortifications built around 1280. (Building accessible?)
  • 1  Organ museum. Extensive (hands-on) exhibition on the subject of organ and organ building.Open: Sat and Sun 2 pm-5pm. Sat also from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Between April and October is also Thursday and Friday from 2pm to 5pm.Price: 4 €.
  • Baroque organ in the parish church of St. John Baptist
  • Museum "Village History" at Borgholz train station (info)
  • Church tower ruins of the Emmerke Church - located between Nühne and Borgentreich. The ruin is the last remnant of the Desolation Emmerke.
  • "Castle" natzungen - The baroque mansion was built in 1728 and is privately owned (therefore no access). Building information with pictures but in an expose, since the building was as of 09-2013 is for sale.
