By plane
Closest airports would be the Kassel-Calden Airport(IATA: KSF), 23 km and Paderborn Lippstadt Airport
(IATA: PAD) , 50 km. But if you really want to fly, choose to travel via the airport Frankfurt
(IATA: FRA).
By train
The 1 Warburg railway station is east of the city center. Long-distance trains (ICE) and regional trains stop there, including the HessianNVV. The drive to kassel requires an NVV price level 8 ticket for local transport. Bahncard discounts can be used if you are the starting station 2 Scherfede station chooses (lies outside the NVV; NRW tariff). The Hessenticket is valid from / to Warburg train station ("Grenzbahnhof"). Other stations and stops existed on the Warburg-Sarnau railway line, but these were closed when the railway line was closed in 1982 (Warburg Altstadt, Wormeln and Welda).
In the street
City is located on the A 44, the B 7 and the B 252.
By bicycle
The Diemel cycle path leads through Warburg. Since the city is about halfway down the river, it can be moved out of the Sauerland within a day (Brilon/Diemelsee) and from the Weser (Bad Karlshafen) to reach. That comes from the south (Korbach) Twiste cycle path, signposted between Volkmarsen and Warburg as R51.
By boat
The Diemel is not upstream to Warburg, but only to Liebenau-Haueda passable with canoes.
