The Kassel Airport (until January 2015 Kassel-Calden Airport) is the regional commercial airport in the region North Hesse. It is located 15 km northwest of the city kassel at the community Calden.

The expanded regional airport Kassel-Calden started operations on April 4, 2013. The very controversial airport was north of Calden completely rebuilt (now with a runway of 2,500 m).

By train

The airport does not have its own train station. From the next long-distance traffic stop "Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe" the airport can be reached by bus 100. The next local transport stop is the Calden-Fürstenwald train station, which can be reached by bus line 46. The 10 check-in counters are located in the middle of the entrance hall of the terminal. Most of the time, the counters open 2 hours before departure and close 45 minutes before the flight. For absolute safety, please always check with the responsible airline or your travel agency before your flight^[8]

Parking / mobility

For holidaymakers arriving by car, 750 free parking spaces are available on site (250 to 300 m from the terminal).

There is also a smaller, paid parking lot directly opposite the terminal.

The former Infopoint can be approached directly by car (parking on site). There is a freely accessible viewing platform on the container. The container itself, including the toilets, is no longer an info point.
