Bullet Tree Falls is a city in Belize in the Cayo District.
background
The first settlements here go back to the years before Christ. This area on the Mopan River was part of the urban area of El Pilar and was used by the Mayas at least until the abandonment of El Pilar in the 9th century AD. But since this area was still populated until the arrival of the Spaniards and the Mopan River represented an important trade route, it can be assumed that the Mayas were first driven out by the Spaniards or later by the English, enslaved or were murdered. Only at the beginning of the 20th century. changed this. At that time Mayans from Guatemala and caste war refugees from the Yucatan landed here and founded the place. Accordingly, mainly Spanish is spoken in this place.
