Bóly [bOj] is a small town in southeastern Transdanubia in Hungary.

History
The first Hungarian mention of Bóly took place in 1093. During the Turkish era the village was almost deserted, so later Germans were invited. The village took the name "Németbóly" (= German Bóly). Until 1945 the agricultural village belonged to a magnate family, later due to the anti-German campaign the word Német (German) was removed from the place name and the farm continued to function as a significant state farm. The Germans were also deported to Germany. Bóly acquired city rights in 1997.
