Chaungtha is a small town in the south of Myanmar Ayeyarwady region. The place is popular with locals and tourists as a seaside resort, with a beautiful beach.

getting there
The place could only be reached with a permit. However, the situation can also change constantly. Information and, if necessary, approval is available in Yangon at the MTT office ($ 10, but processing time up to 4 days).
In the street
Chaungtha can only be reached by road. The city is 40 kilometers from Pathein away and can be reached by car in about 2 hours. Several buses run daily from Pathein's bus station (7:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.) in about 3 hours to Chaungtha. Passing buses from Yangon start there around 6 a.m. Tickets are available at MTT at the Sule Pagoda.
