Cittiglio is a city of Lombardy.
To know
Background
In the early Middle Ages the name of the town was Cistellum, as attested by a parchment of 998, published in the Lombard Diplomatic Code (previously the toponym was erroneously attributed to Cislago). It was the seat of the noble Luini or Luvini di Cittiglio family. The first City Council was elected in 1827.
In 1902 the famous cyclist Alfredo Binda was born here. In the Napoleonic and Fascist periods the municipality was united with that of Brenta.
