The Kazakh deserts is the southernmost region of Kazakhstan, comprising the Kazakh parts of the vast deserts of Qyzylqum and Aral Karakum. It includes the provinces of Kyzylorda, South Kazakhstan and Zhambyl. This area is home to much of Kazakhstan’s historical monuments, as well as the fascinating ecological disaster of the Aral Sea and its wrecks. You will also find here the main border posts leading to Bishkek, to Kyrgyzstan, and to Tashkent, in Uzbekistan.
