The border between northern Dalmatia and the Kvarner Gulf region is the mouth of the Zemegna River (Zrmaja) near the city of Novigrad.
Its southern border is instead represented by the coastal lake of Vransko.
Territories and tourist destinations
- Zadar region - The Zadar archipelago includes Long Island (Dugi Otok), highly sought after for its pristine beaches and virgin landscapes. In particular, the Telašćica gulf dotted with tiny islands. I pay (Page) is instead a bare and hairless island due to the karst nature of its soil. Nevertheless, the island has acquired international fame for the wild night parties organized on the beach of Zrće by groups of young people. The island of Morter is typically the springboard for Kornati Islands (Kornati), an uninhabited archipelago made up of a myriad of islets without trees and without sources of fresh water. Nevertheless, the archipelago is highly sought after by enthusiasts of ecological tourism. In fact, they have the opportunity to take one-day mini-cruises aboard the simple boats rented to the inhabitants of Morter to which almost all the land on the Kornati islands belongs.
- Region of Sibenik - The main attraction of the Šibenik area is the Krka National Park. The course of the river is interrupted by numerous waterfalls.
