Dingelstädt is one of the oldest settlements in Eichsfeld and an important place of pilgrimage in the Catholic region.

The next train station is Silberhausen on the Bad Langensalza - Leinefelde route, which is served by regional trains and occasionally regional express trains. The train station is about three kilometers east of the city. There is a bus connection.
