Leinefelde is a city in Thuringia Eichsfeld and the southern part of the twin city Leinefelde-Worbis.

Leinefelde in Obereichsfeld is originally from a small village around the Leash sources emerged place, which in GDR times was particularly popular due to the deliberate settlement of workers for the newly created cotton spinning mill as part of the Eichsfeld plan grew strongly and was in the meantime the largest place in the upper area.
