Federal District (Distrito Federal) is a state of the Brazil in the region of Central Western Brazil.

The Federal District includes within it the capital of the country, Brasilia. National and federal capital which was founded on 21 April 1960 by pending the post of Rio de Janeiro.
Geographical notes
Flat and elevated areas, rounded hills and plateaus interspersed with escarpments. In particular to the north there are rugged reliefs, with deep valleys called vãos. While in the south the average altitude is 1,100 m a.s.l., the highest point is the Vendinha plateau located in the north-east with an altitude of 1,349 m.
Background
In the year 1891, a commission was appointed to plan the transfer of capital from Rio de Janeiro to the interior of the country. In 1922 the localization was established in the neighbor Goiás, but only in 1955, the president Juscelino Kubitschek started the works.

- Brasilia (Brasília) - The federal capital.

- Brasilia National Park - The main attraction of the park are the pools of water that arise alongside Córrego Acampamento, a small stream.
