Goiás is a state of Brazil, located in the central western region.
To know
The Goiás state (formerly Goyaz) takes the name of an indigenous community. and it is the most central of the Brazilian states and the most populous in the region.
Geographical notes
Goiás is characterized by a landscape of plateaus and borders the States of Tocantins, Bahia, Minas Gerais, the Federal District, Mato Grosso do Sul is Mato Grosso.
When to go
At the height of the dry season which runs from June to September, the lack of rain makes the level of the Araguaia River so low that it creates about 2 km of beaches, and this is the main attraction of the state.

- Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park - An important eco-park with canyons, valleys, rapids and waterfalls. The park is accessed through Alto Paraíso de Goiás or São Jorge.
