Territories and tourist destinations

It is divided into 3 micro-regions:

  • Aragarças
  • Rio Vermelho
  • São Miguel do Araguaia

Urban centers

  • Aragarças - Its main attraction is that it is bathed by the waters of the majestic Rio Araguaia.
  • Aruanã - It is located on the Araguaia River and attracts thousands of tourists, especially in the dry season, from May to August, when extensive sandbanks are formed providing beaches for bathers and swimmers. Sport fishing is widespread in the region.
  • Britânia - City mainly based on cattle breeding.
  • Goiás - The ancient capital, a historical heritage ofUNESCO.
  • Jussara - City with two universities and very active in the cultural sector.
