Gazimağusa District (Gazimağusa İlçesi), is one of the districts of Northern Cyprus. Its sub-districts are Akdoğan, Gazimağusa (or Mağusa, Gazi is a Turkish prefix meaning "glorified") and Geçitkale.

Geographical notes
It borders on the mainland to its northeast side with the İskele District (İskele İlçesi), to the north-west with the Girne District (Girne İlçesi), southwest with the Nicosia District (Lefkoşa İlçesi) and to the south with the Southern Famagusta DistrictIt borders the sea to the north with the Mediterranean Turkey, to the east with the Syrian coast.
Spoken languages
There Turkish language with an accentuated Cypriot dialect, a minority also speak the language Greek. Even the use of the English it is quite common in the most touristic centers.

The regular service is operated by minibuses (dolmuş) from Nicosia is Kyrenia (or Girne).

There are no regular buses in the district, as there are no large cities. The towns and villages are served by minibuses (dolmuş).
