Sariyer district is a district (Ilçe) and a municipality (Belediye) subject to the metropolitan municipality (Büyükşehir Belediyesi) of Istanbul.

Geographical notes
The district of Sarıyer is located on the northeast peak of the peninsula of Thrace, on the European side of Istanbul. It borders the districts of Beşiktaş South, Şişli to the southwest, Eyüp to the west, and with the strait of Bosphorus to the east and the Black Sea North.
It has one of the richest landscapes in Istanbul in terms of natural vegetation. There you can immerse yourself in the Belgrade forest. Also in the area on the northeastern tip of the peninsula Eastern Thrace between the village of Rumeli Kavağı South - Rumelifeneri to the northeast - and the village of Kilyos to the north-west there is a natural area, with a decline towards the Black Sea, largely covered by forest.
