Doberlug-Kirchhain is located on the electrified Berlin – Dresden long-distance line, which crosses the Leipzig – Cottbus line, which is also electrified. The 1 Doberlug-Kirchhain station lies pretty much exactly in the middle of the twin cities. Doberlug is to the south and Kirchhain to the north.

The driver drives from the direction of Berlin on the A 13 to the exit Symbol: AS 8 Duben and then continue on the B 96 to Sonnewalde; from Dresden on the A 13 to the exit Symbol: AS 14 Großräschen and then on the B 96 to after Finsterwalde.
