The spa town Bad Liebenwerda is located on the Black Elster in the south of the state of Brandenburg, approx. 60 km northwest of Dresden. Bad Liebenwerda already had city rights in 1230.
getting there
In Bad Liebenwerda the federal road 183 meets from Torgau coming on the federal highway 101 Grossenhain–Elsterwerda–Bad Liebenwerda–Herzberg (Elster). The closest motorway junction is the connection point Ruhland the A 13 Berlin – Dresden. If you leave here, use the B 169 to Elsterwerda and change to the aforementioned B 101.

There are train connections from Elsterwerda and Falkenberg (Elster) out. The 1 Liebenwerda train station is north-east of the city center.

- 1 Lubwart Tower, Keep of the old Liebenwerda Castle and the oldest building in the city
- 2 St. Nikolai Church, late Gothic with a neo-Gothic tower.
- Memorial fountain at the market square, landmark of Bad Liebenwerda.
- 3 Saxon postal mileage pillar, reconstructed and set up again in 2003.
- District Museum with an exhibition on the central German traveling puppet theater and a permanent exhibition on the Graun brothers (composers of the 18th century).
