The Danube is the largest European electricity whose origins lie in Germany. The entire cycle route of the Danube cycle path is a total of approx. 2800 km. Of these, around 560 km are in Germany.
The condition of the route is of course very different. While cycle tourism on the Danube has long been established in Germany and Austria, the infrastructure in the other countries is still being developed. For example, a lot has already been done in Hungary to lure foreign holidaymakers into the country by bike.
In Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Romania you often need a dose of adventure to cycle here (see also Donau-Info.org - The German Society for Technical Cooperation is helping to set up the Danube Cycle Path).
