- Dorchester - County town of Dorset.
- Blandford Forum - Blandford is notable for its Georgian architecture, the result of reconstruction after most of the town was destroyed by fire in 1731.
- Bournemouth - Its maritime position makes it a great attraction for tourists attracted by the possibility of surfing.
- Bridport - Bridport is internationally known for the manufacture of cordage, an activity that dates back to Roman times.
- Christchurch - Founded around 650 by some monks.
- Gillingham - The city hosts the annual Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show, a well-attended agricultural fair held every August on the outskirts of the city.
- Lyme Regis - The city is known for the fossils found in the cliffs and in the adjacent beaches, protected by theUNESCO.
