Endingen am Kaiserstuhl is a small town in the north of the Kaiserstuhls, it is located in the district of Emmendingen.

background

The place Endingen was first mentioned in a document in 862. Around 1290 Endingen received city rights from the Lords of Üsenberg. After this noble family died out, Endingen came under the rule of the Habsburgs. In 1806 Endingen came into the possession of the Grand Duchy of Baden. During the years 1971-1974, the formerly independent towns of Amoltern, Kiechlinsbergen and Königschaffhausen were incorporated as part of a community reform.

The neighboring towns Sasbach, Wyhl, Forchheim, bars and Bahlingen are in the district of Emmendingen, which is also neighboring Vogtsburg belongs to the district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald.

Endingen is located on the one leading through the Kaiserstuhl Baden Wine Route, whose wines have an excellent reputation due to the favorable Mediterranean climate.

Endingen is up to the Kaiserstuhlbahn. From 1 Trains run in the direction of Endingen station Breisach and towards Gottenheim, there are train connections to Riegel-Malterdingen station on the Rhine Valley Railway. The Königschaffhausen district also has one 2 Breakpoint.
