The airport Sharm el-Sheikh International (English: Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport, Arabic:مطار شرم الشيخ الدولي, Maṭār Sharm el-Sheikh ad-Daulī) is northwest of the egyptian city Sharm esch-Sheikh on the east side of the Sinai at Ras Nasrani.

The airport was opened as the Israeli airport on May 14, 1968 Ophira International Airport opened and served as an airport for the Israeli armed forces. As a result of the Camp David Agreement, it was handed over to Egypt.
The airport opened in 2008 and is after Cairo International Airport the second largest airport in the country. It has two 3,081 meter long runways.

Terminals
There are currently two terminals, a third is under construction.
Terminal 1
The terminal was opened on May 23, 2007. Around 5 million passengers can be handled here. Two gates are for domestic flights and six for international flights. Architecturally, the building is reminiscent of a boat.
Terminal 2
The terminal was the airport's first terminal, but it is becoming less and less important.
Terminal 3
The planned terminal should have a capacity of 8 to 15 million passengers.
