Ras Nasrani (also Ras Nuzrani / Nusrani / Nosrani, Arabic:رأس نصراني, Raʾs Naṣrānī, „Cape of the Christians“) Is a resort and diving area twelve kilometers north of the Naʿama Bay of Sharm esch-Sheikh and east of the airport. It is not known where the name of this area comes from. Immediately north of Raʾs Naṣrānī extends Raʾs Gamīla (Arabic:رأس جميلة, „the beautiful cape“), Immediately south Raʾs Bob.

Raʾs Naṣrānī
The Diving area1 Raʾs Naṣrānī(27 ° 57 ′ 50 ″ N.34 ° 24 '54 "E.) can be explored from a boat in a drift dive. You start near the beach at the Melia Sinai Resort. The diving area can also be reached from land via the footbridge over the coral block. The dive runs north, initially at a depth of 30 meters and then ascending to a depth of 12 meters. The weak current is north.
Gorgonians, soft corals, pore corals (Porites) and anemones. The reef inhabitants include anemonefish, mackerel, barracudas, crabs and giant clams (Tridacnidae).
This is located a short distance away Gordon Reef in the Strait of Tīrān.
Raʾs Gamīla
The diving area 2 Ras Gamila(27 ° 58 ′ 29 ″ N.34 ° 25 ′ 38 ″ E), sometimes too Ras Ghamila, Arabic:رأس جميلة, Raʾs Ǧamīla, „beautiful cape“) Is a cape in the area of the Coral Sea Sensatori Hotel north of Raʾs Naṣrānī and forms the southernmost point of a large, shallow lagoon in the area of the Sol Cyrene Hotel and Jaz Belvedere Resort. Jetties for bathers lead from both hotels into this lagoon. The lagoon is bounded in the east by a reef block that drops to a sand plateau at a depth of 8 to 15 meters. On this reef block a green one turned 3 lighthouse(27 ° 58 ′ 48 ″ N.34 ° 26 '9 "E) erected, the western limit of the Strait of Tīrān marked. About halfway between Ras Gamīla and the lighthouse there is a small canal that connects the lagoon with the sea.
Divers can take a simple drift dive along the edge of the reef, with the current running from south to north. The dive starts from a boat at about Raʾs Gamīla and ends near the lighthouse, where the divers are welcomed again by this boat.
The underwater world includes hard corals of the genus Porites, a few table corals, butterfly fish, angel fish, parrot fish, trigger fish, barracudas and mackerel.
Raʾs Bōb
The diving area 4 Ras Bob(27 ° 57 '48 "N.34 ° 24 ′ 39 ″ E), Arabic:رأس بوب, Raʾs Bōb, „Bob's cape“) Is a cape and coral block south of Raʾs Naṣrānī and was named after the underwater cameraman Robert "Bob" Johnson (* 1946) named. A residential area extends here on land.
The dive site is relatively protected. There is only a slight current to the north here. On the coast, the reefs drop to a sandy plateau at about 6 to 14 meters and have several small caves. The dive is usually carried out in a circle from the boat. Initially, one dives further east to north near the edge of the sand plateau at a depth of 20 to 25 meters. The return is along the edge of the reef in a southerly direction.
There are a few hard corals of the genus Porites and see table corals. The reef inhabitants include butterfly fish, parrot fish, trigger fish, crocodile fish, red sea tube eels, blue spotted rays and mackerels.
The dive site is also suitable for snorkelers who can explore the underwater world in the anchorage area.
