Forest is a municipality in the region Hardtwald and Bruhrain in Baden-Wurttemberg. It is located about 3 km north-west of Bruchsal and about 20 km north of Karlsruhe. Apart from the village of the same name, no other villages belong to the community of Forst.

The place Forest was first mentioned in a document in 1161. In 1644, Forst was destroyed by French troops, at that time the place belonged to the Prince Diocese of Speyer. In the course of secularization, Forst came to the Grand Duchy of Baden in 1803. Petroleum was discovered in Forst around 1920, and production was discontinued in 1960. During this time, gravel was also mined, the gravel pits at that time have now been converted into leisure facilities.
