Fuschl am See is a community in Salzkammergut and is located on Wolfgangsee-Straße (B 158) between the municipalities of Hof bei Salzburg and St. Gilgen at the Wolfgangsee. The distance to the state capital Salzburg is about 20 km. The community area is 21.4 km² and the population is 1,520 (as of Dec. 2015) Fuschl am See has around 1,300 guest beds and in 2015 had around 185,000 overnight stays.

The Fuschlsee is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Salzkammergut. It is 4 km long, about 500 meters wide and 67 meters deep.

• Exploring the Fuschlsee on foot and by boat - From Fuschl am See you hike along the particularly beautiful north side of the lake to the castle at the western end of the lake (approx. 5 km). From there you can take a small, open electric passenger ship back to Fuschl. If you want, you can of course go around the lake entirely on foot.
