Sankt Gilgen is a community in Salzkammergut, In the state Salzburg and has about 3,700 inhabitants. The well-known vacation spot is right on Wolfgangsee.

By plane
The next international Airport is to the west of Salzburg, directly on the A1 (exit 297).
By train
There is no railway line to St. Gilgen or to the entire Wolfgangsee region.

- From the 1521 m high 1 Zwölferhorn a beautiful panorama opens up over the lake. The 2800 m long Zwölferhornbahn brings the traveler comfortably to the summit. The gondolas of the detachable two-cable gondola each have space for 4 people. If you want, you can of course also hike the summit.

The Schafbergspitze - observation box of the Salzkammergut
One of the oldest cogwheel railways in Austria, the Schafbergbahn. From the Schafberg plateau you have a magnificent view of Lake Wolfgang and Lake Mondsee.
